Social Policy Shop

The Social Policy Shop is pleased to offer policy makers, advocates, and interested citizens the tools and information they need to make and/or influence social policy.

What You Know
The Social Policy  Shop provides links to documents that inform and/or underpin social policy making in Canada.  Legislation, data, research reports -- these will be listed and links provided where the material is available on-line.  Where it is not available on-line, available contact information will be provided.  Materials will be primarily Canadian, but relevant international documents and initiatives, and documents from other national governments will also be cited.

Who You Know
What you know is not unimportant, but who you know is at least as important, when it comes to getting things done.  We can't provide personal introductions on-line, but we can tell you who is who: cabinet ministers with social policy portfolios, federally and provincially, and provincial, national and international research shops and advocacy organizations in various social policy fields.  Where electronic communication is possible, we'll provide e-mail addresses.  Where a web site exists, we'll provide the link.  We'll do our best to keep it up-to-date, but if you find links that don't get you where you were expecting to go, use our feedback form, and let us know.

Update
Available to subscribers only, this service includes the timeliest information on who and what you know: new appointments, new policy and program announcements, and new books and reports.   While it will be updated on an on-going basis, subscribers can choose to be informed of any significant additions by e-mail if they so wish.  A subscription form is available on-line.
